It was no surprise that Ponch del Rosario would be highly attached to music. At an early age, he already gained passion in playing the piano and the guitar. He was also exposed to his father’s musical style consisting of jazz and Bossa Nova. In high school, Ponch was attracted to electronic music while the Manila club scene was at its height. This had strengthened his zeal and enthusiasm for music.

In the last quarter of 2003, Ponch bought his first CD decks and mixer and started DJing as a hobby. To learn, he taught himself with the help of the Internet and a book entitled “How to DJ”. Soon, he bought his own turntables and his addiction to vinyl’s began. This had triggered Ponch to take DJing more seriously and turned his hobby into a profession.

Summer 2004, Ponch del Rosario received his first gig at Music Factory (Pampanga). This became his practicing ground, which led him to his DJ residency at Coquina in Makati. After which, Ponch was given the opportunity to spin at bars here in the Metro consisting of Peligro, Mati, Bora Bar, Belissima, Quisine, and The Manila DJ’s Club.

In 2005, Ponch teamed up with fellow DJs Mac Cunanan, Eroin Edralin, Ali Nepomuceno, Martin Ballesca and Noel Sarmiento. ~Curv has then received residencies at well-respected bars namely: Manila DJ’s Club, Maestro Lounge, Bamboo Lounge, and Intoxica.

ALI NEPOMUCENO

In less than a decade, Ali Nepomuceno is very much contented and blessed with his accomplishments in the Philippine clubbing scene, music and of course, deejaying.

Ali grew up in a musically inclined family where he learned the tiny bits of it since he was 8 years old. His mom put him into music classes where he learned to play the bass guitar, the piano and the organ while his father taught him the fundamentals of the drums. His music was greatly influenced by his brother who played for an acid jazz band that carried covers from Incognito, Brand New Heavies and more. Ali Nepomuceno's career in music and DJing was all by blessing. With the help of his fellow DJs in the circuit such great names like Martin Aquino, Benjo Marquez, Marie Garcia, Adrian Cuenca, the Soong's and more, Ali's music was given chance to be heard in different bars and clubs in and out of the metro. (Bora Bar, Peligro, Coquina, Mati, Racks El Pueblo, Bamboo Lounge, Mezze, Nuvo, Temple, Mcafe, Manila DJ Club, Embassy to name a few) During summer he gets to play on the white sandy beaches of Boracay wherein he played sunset sessions and special events. Ali is got into the big dj circuit when he was given a chance to play with most of Manila's finest DJs Roman Mojica, Chip Dela Calzada, Mon Maramba, Papi Santos, Erwin Edralin of ABGs and more to name a few.

Different among the other spin doctors, Ali's elevating and captivating dj sets are spontaneous and are not rehearsed at all. From deep house to techno, from progressive to trance, Ali can surely manage to bring something out of the box and you have never heard before.
